LA Paints the Beach: Thousands Descend on Redondo Beach for the Holi Beach Festival 2026

Southern California's most colorful day of the year transforms Seaside Lagoon into a kaleidoscope of music, culture, and celebration

REDONDO BEACH, CA — March 14, 2026

The Southern California sky turned every color of the rainbow on Saturday as thousands of festival-goers flooded the shores of Redondo Beach for one of the region's most exhilarating annual events — the Holi Beach Festival 2026.

Running from noon to 10 PM at Seaside Lagoon, located at 200 Portofino Way in Redondo Beach, the festival delivered on its promise of music, colors, and beach vibes in one unforgettable day. Presented by BIH Events, this year's celebration returned bigger, louder, and more colorful than ever — building on the success of last year's event, which welcomed over 6,000 attendees.

A Festival Born from Ancient Tradition, Reimagined for LA

Holi — the ancient Hindu festival of colors — has long been celebrated across South Asia as a jubilant welcome to spring, a triumph of good over evil, and a moment of communal joy that transcends social boundaries. In Redondo Beach, that spirit found a new home: a beachfront stage, crashing Pacific waves, and clouds of brilliant color powder rising against a blue California sky.

The festival transformed Redondo Beach's iconic Seaside Lagoon waterfront into a full-scale, color-drenched celebration unlike anything else in California — blending epic Holi color throws with high-energy DJ sets, an all-new stage design, and immersive festival elements designed to deliver nonstop energy from start to finish.

Music That Crossed Every Genre

The musical lineup was as diverse as the crowd itself. Top DJs spun sets spanning Bollywood, EDM, Hip-Hop, Afro Beats, and Top 40, backed by massive stage production with premium sound and lighting — turning Seaside Lagoon into one of the South Bay's most electric dance floors of the year.

Epic crowd color throw moments were synchronized with the music throughout the day, creating cinematic bursts of pigment that washed over thousands of white-clad revelers at once — a spectacle that proved as much a visual experience as an auditory one.

Safe, Inclusive, and All-Ages

Organizers took great care to ensure the festival was welcoming to every kind of attendee. The color powders used throughout the event were non-toxic, skin-safe, water-soluble, and environmentally friendly — and the event was open to all ages, with children under five admitted free.

Attendees enjoyed a full bar serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, food vendors and street food, and a waterfront festival setting that offered stunning Pacific Ocean views as a backdrop to every color throw moment.

A Cultural Bridge in the Heart of SoCal

What makes the Holi Beach Festival remarkable is not just the spectacle — it's the sense of belonging it creates. Thousands came together to celebrate music, color, culture, and community by the water, blending the ancient spirit of Holi with the laid-back energy of Southern California beach culture. First-timers stood side-by-side with returning veterans, all of them painted head-to-toe in vivid reds, yellows, greens, and pinks by day's end.

For a single Saturday afternoon on the California coast, distinctions of background, language, and generation dissolved into clouds of color — and that, perhaps, is the most Holi thing of all.
