VidCon 2025: From Hall of Fame Legends to ‘Hawk Tuah’ Chaos – The Year Anaheim Buzzed Louder Than Ever

Updated: Jul 27

If you thought the internet was chaotic, you should’ve seen the Anaheim Convention Center last weekend. VidCon 2025 once again transformed the digital world’s biggest personalities from pixels to real-life encounters, pulling fans, creators, and industry giants into a three-day frenzy of panels, meet-and-greets, and viral moments waiting to happen.

A Global Hub for Creators and Fans

Running from June 19–21, 2025, VidCon’s three tracks — Community, Creator, and Industry — ensured everyone had their moment in the spotlight. Fans screamed for selfies, aspiring creators swapped tips on monetization, and marketing execs took notes on the next big platform pivot. Whether you were there to learn, network, or simply bask in fandom energy, Anaheim was the place to be.

Hall of Fame Honors: A Standing Ovation for Internet Pioneers

This year marked the first-ever VidCon Hall of Fame awards, honoring trailblazers who shaped digital culture as we know it. Inductees included Hank Green (VidCon co-founder), Rhett & Link of Good Mythical Morning, Tyler Oakley, Grace Helbig, Rosanna Pansino, Joey Graceffa, and Smosh duo Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox. Their heartfelt speeches proved longevity online isn’t just luck — it’s craft, community, and a whole lot of late nights editing.

‘Hawk Tuah’ Girl Goes Off-Script

Not every panel went smoothly — and that’s exactly why fans love VidCon. Hailey Welch, better known as the viral “Hawk Tuah” girl, hosted a live recording of her Talk Tuah podcast alongside Chelsea Bradford and guest Whitney Cummings. Let’s just say things got… messy. Half the audience trickled out mid-show, proving once again that live chaos is part of VidCon’s charm.

Tech, Tips, and TikTok Gold

Beyond the chaos, VidCon remained a content creator’s boot camp. Mashable reporters spotted creators flaunting influencer-approved gadgets — from compact vlogging cameras to “In My Bag”-worthy accessories. Panels buzzed with insider wisdom: decoding the YouTube algorithm, boosting retention, writing viral scripts, and guarding your privacy in an era where oversharing is currency.

Creators like Naomi Hearts, Mikey Angelo, and Nicole Rafiee showcased their personal toolkits for crafting viral magic, while fans furiously typed notes (or filmed TikTok recaps, naturally).

Fandom Fever: “Let Us In!”

Nothing screams VidCon like fans chanting at the doors before opening. This year’s rallying cry — a simple yet powerful “LET US IN!” — echoed through Anaheim, proving the hype is alive and well after 15 years of VidCon madness.

The Big Picture

VidCon 2025 wasn’t just about panels or merch hauls. It was about connection — between creators and fans, between aspiring influencers and their idols, and between the digital world and reality. And with new owners Informa steering the ship (after acquiring the event from Paramount in 2024), the future of VidCon promises to be bigger, bolder, and buzzier than ever.

As one fan put it while sprinting to a meet-and-greet: “This is the internet, but IRL — and it’s even louder than I imagined.”
